Itinerary
Day 01: Srinagar – Sonmarg (110 kms / 03 hrs)
Meet and greet on arrival at Srinagar airport by our representative and proceed to meadows of gold Sonmarg through Sindh Valley. Arrival & check into the hotel. Later, you can visit Thajiwas Glacier by walking or on a pony at your own cost. Evening leisure time. Dinner & overnight at Sonmarg.
Day 02: Sonmarg – Kargil (130 kms / 03 hrs)
After breakfast, leave for Kargil (8–10 hrs). En route Zojila Pass, Drass village (2nd coldest inhabited place in the world), Kargil war famous peaks and Kargil War Memorial. Reach Kargil by evening. Check into the hotel. Dinner & overnight at Kargil.
Day 03: Kargil – Leh (220 kms / 05 hrs)
After breakfast, leave for Leh (5–6 hrs). En route Mulbek (1st-century giant living Buddha sculpture on rock mountain), later visit Lamayuru Monastery & enjoy magnificent view of “Moonland – an undulating series of mountains that resemble the surface of the moon,” Magnetic Hill, confluence of Indus and Zanskar rivers, and Pathar Saheb Gurudwara. Reach Leh by afternoon and check into the hotel. Evening rest at hotel for acclimatization. Dinner & overnight at Leh.
Day 04: Leh city sightseeing
After breakfast, proceed for Leh city sightseeing which includes Hemis Monastery – oldest and richest monastery of Ladakh, Thiksey Monastery – historic Buddhist monastery on a hill, Shey Palace, Sindhu Ghat, Shanti Stupa – domed Buddhist temple on a hill, Rancho School, Leh Fort. Evening explore Leh market by own. Dinner & overnight at Leh.
Day 05: Leh – Nubra Valley (Appx. 160 kms / 04–05 hrs)
After breakfast, leave for Nubra Valley (5–6 hrs drive) via Khardungla Pass @ 18,380 ft (world’s highest motorable road). Reach Nubra Valley by afternoon. Nubra Valley offers tremendous scenery on a grand scale with green oasis villages surrounded by thrillingly stark scree slopes and harsh arid mountains. You can enjoy Two-hump camel safari on the world’s highest coldest desert at your own expense. Dinner & overnight at Nubra Valley.
Day 06: Nubra – Turtuk – Nubra
After breakfast, proceed to visit Turtuk village. Turtuk is the last village between the two hostile neighbours. This scenic village was once a part of Baltistan in Pakistan, which was recaptured by India in the 1971 war. En route, visit Siachen Mini Base Camp. Enjoy the beauty of Turtuk, evening back to Nubra. Visit Diskit Monastery or you can enjoy adventure activities like ATV ride, river rafting, zipline, etc., at your own cost. Dinner & overnight stay in Nubra.
Day 07: Nubra Valley – Pangong Tso (Appx. 250 kms / 06 hrs)
After early breakfast, leave for Pangong Lake (6–7 hrs drive). Pangong Lake is at an altitude of 14,500 ft. and is the world’s highest and longest saltwater lake. Enjoy changing colours of the Blue Brackish lake. At night you can witness the Milky Way star gazing (if weather permits). Dinner & overnight at Pangong Lake.
Day 08: Pangong Tso – Leh (Appx. 220 kms / 05 hrs)
After breakfast, proceed for Leh (4–5 hrs drive) via Changla Pass (17,350 ft – world’s third-highest motorable road). Reach Leh and check into the hotel. Evening leisure time on your own. Dinner & overnight at Leh.
Day 09: Leh airport drop
This morning after breakfast, say goodbye to the land of high passes, Ladakh, at Leh airport to catch a flight for your hometown journey. Here the tour ends with lots of photos in your mobile & memories in your heart with Vasu Tours.
